“BEING NECESSARY TO THE SECURITY OF A FREE STATE”

This youtube video by Colion Noir sums up most of my feelings concerning the current gun control debate.

The only thing I would ad can be found over at Red State where Erick Erickson’s article on the purpose of the second amendment brings to the forefront a very politically incorrect thought.  Erickson writes:

“You may think a 30 round magazine is too big. Under the real purpose of the second amendment, a 30 round magazine might be too small.”

During this debate it has become clear that politicians and government bureaucrats only care about how their “life bettering” ideas are perceived.  They care nothing about reality, only how their decisions will affect the American psyche.  If you feel manipulated then pat yourself on the back for rising above all the lies.

I have come to the conclusion I could write a very dense book on the above hypothesis.  The government ignores reality and only cares about how their actions are perceived.  Has anyone on the left stopped to think the only result from their attempt to weaken our second amendment right will be more of the very thing they believe is the cause of evil human actions.  Yesterday after the President issued his executive orders gun stocks soared.  Why?  If most are correct and congress does not have the votes to pass new gun laws, then the only thing Barack Obama accomplished yesterday was to put another 10 million guns on the street and the left doesn’t seem to care.  Why?  Because it is not about what is practical, it is about manipulating the average American’s opinion to think the government can actually solve the problem of gun violence regardless of the liberty it will cost.  Think about it.  What issue facing the country today does not apply to this theory.  Whether it’s taxing millionaires to solve our national debt, or a logical plan to solve illegal immigration, or ending welfare and voter fraud.  The list could go on.  It is always about perception not reality.
