Last Friday I spent the entire two hour broadcast focusing on the controversy in Northeast Arkansas concerning Kay Williams who is a counselor at the Greene County Tech Primary School. Kay was ordered by Greene County Tech Superintendent Jerry Noble to remove her bulletin board display of the Nativity Scene. This action was taken due to legal concerns raised by the school’s attorney after a resident called the school to complain about the display.
During the broadcast Jerry Halsell called in to discuss the topic. Halsell, who is in favor of keeping the nativity scene, described his correspondence with Jerry Noble and stated he attempted to provide the school district with information about laws that indeed make it legal for a school to display a nativity scene. At the time of the broadcast the school had not taken the memos into consideration. The Answer to Us network has obtained the email between Jerry Noble and Jerry Halsell.
There are many people throughout Northeast Arkansas who believe liberalism will always be a distant problem and never a local one. There are many examples of the politically correct culture that influence our local communities, however, this particular example is getting more attention because it has to do with Christmas and it is forcing many of our fellow countrymen to rethink the idleness of yesterday and begin to stand up for what is right today.
As of today sources tell the Answer to Us Network three hours after the broadcast Kay Williams was told she could put her nativity scene back up as of 9:00pm on Friday Dec. 9th.
Below I have posted audio clips of Friday’s show. It was a hot topic and even had an atheist talking. Part 3 is the interview with Kay Williams. Merry Christmas NEA!
